Looking Good, Sir Now Work on Listening Skills

Compliments where they’re due: you look good. The fit is clean, the hair is styled, the cologne is working overtime. Visual effort? A+. But then the conversation starts, and suddenly all that charm falls apart because listening? Nonexistent.

Listening is underrated. Too many guys treat conversations like auditions  just waiting for their turn to talk, rehearsing what they’ll say next, not absorbing a word in between. And it shows. People can tell when you’re nodding without processing, when your replies are autopilot, when you’re more focused on your reflection in the restaurant window than the story being told.

Looking good might get you in the door. But listening? That’s what makes people want to stay. Because being heard is a deeper attraction than being seen.

So yes, keep looking sharp. But sharpen those listening skills, too. Nothing kills attraction faster than realizing the person across from you isn’t actually present.
